Friday night. 6pm. Tired. Exhausted. Beat. Another work week passed. What have I done this week? I can't think anymore. I really don't know. Almost fell asleep in the car on my way home. Opened my windows, turned up the volume of Haydn's Jahreszeiten and made it home.
Years ago, I would grab a bag of chips and a drink, and fall down on my comfortable couch and watch a movie or some television. For as long as I could stay awake...
Since a couple of years however, I play in an orchestra, which rehearses on Friday evening. No time left now. I come home, grab a sandwich, my instrument and scores, jump back in my car and drive off to the concerthall. (I like to call it that, it sounds better (see my earlier post...), but it is just a big room which we rent)
So, we rehearsed again. Haydn's Jahreszeiten. I didn't have time to practice this week due to a pretty busy schedule. Had a board meeting, information evening on labour (like in having a child, which was boring and scary at the same time...) and of course I had to play Mario Kart. (Hey, I remember what I did!)
And you know what? At the end of the evening, I was again full of energy. Playing music fills me with joy, with lots of energy. The mind is busy with something else than the boss, the employees, the incidents, the responsibilities that being a manager brings along, etc... Music brings me to another level of being. It gives me answers to the meaning of life.
Well, being pushed by friends and colleagues to start a blog, this will be it. Blogpost.com.
Why? Why do people want to share their experiences, their ideas? Why do people post their photos, videos etc on the internet. Even video's of their wives giving birth. Why? I certainly do not want to see that!
Am I interested in other people's lives? What they did yesterday evening? What their opinion is? For the most part probably not. E.g. I really hate the so called vox populi. Especially during the 8 o'clock news. Stupid people picked randomly of the street, being interviewed on issues they don't understand. They really don't have a clue what they are talking about and the news channel is broadcasting that. Mostly paid for with my tax money.
So why then do I start blogging, pushing my opinions, ideas and experiences out on the internet, where probably no one is really interested in this stuff.
Well, what if only one person likes to read my blog? That gives me some recognition, some feeling of importance. And I like being patted on the back.
Does this count for everyone then? Yeah, in today's world it's all about being seen, being heard. Your not moving up in this world without that. Being just one of the guys, not standing out, you will not be seen by your bosses boss (if you have a competent boss that is). And we all know the consequences of that. Watch your average Dilbert cartoon if you don't...
So, please, let only one of you readers react and recognize my ideas, my very biased views on life. That's all I need...
